Calgary outlasts Tampa Bay in a barn-burner; 9-6

When I first began to get into hockey as an adult, Jarome Iginla was the player I think I most enjoyed watching. This was before Sid the Kid burst on the scene, and the Flames were in a Stanley Cup Finals battle with these same Lightning.

Iginla was dominating, scoring at will and creating opportunities on the shot, as well as drawing in penalties and mismatches. Any hockey fan knows what Iginla can do and how dangerous of a player he really is. I think he's the best pure scorer in hockey all things considered at this time. Tonight he scored 3 goals and added an assist.

If you play fantasy hockey, and I don't; this was a game of interest. Nearly every guy who found the ice filled his stat sheet. Vinny Lecavalier had a goal and 2 assists to pad his league lead over Crosby. Dion Phaneuf had 5 assists. This was a game that simply had to go on record on this blog, because it is the first extremely high scoring competition since Light the Lamp was born.
